2013 Zinfandel Teldeschi
Teldeschi Vineyard, Dry Creek Valley

The Vineyard
The Ray Teldeschi Vineyard is located to the west of Healdsburg in the Dry Creek Valley. The vineyards have a southern exposure giving the vines (some of which are 115 years old) plenty of sunlight. Like most great Zinfandel sites, the old vines are head pruned, yields are low and the grapes are packed with intense flavors of cherry, blackberry and boysenberry.
Winemaking Notes
This wine is a 50/50 blend of 108+ year old vine zinfandel and “new” 40 year old vines. The fruit was cold soaked for four days prior to D80 yeast inoculation. The wine was aged in 40% new American Oak with the balance in one year old and neutral barrels. After 20 months in barrel aging, the wine was bottled in April of 2015.
Tasting Notes
The 2013 Jazz Cellars Teldeschi Zinfandel features a dark purple/garnet color with toasty oak notes on the nose. Tasting reveals jammy cherry/berry fruit with a touch of vanilla, nice acidity, and medium tannins, ending with a fruity, full body and cherry sandalwood finish.
