2014 Pinot Noir Lone Oak
Lone Oak Vineyard, Santa Lucia Highlands

The Vineyard
Lone Oak Vineyard is located in the Santa Lucia Highlands AVA which has a great reputation for producing outstanding Pinot Noir. The vineyard is planted on an east facing slope between the highly regarded Garys’ and Rosella’s Vineyards. The soil retains some clay that helps retain warmth during the brisk mornings and chilly evening winds off nearby Monterey Bay.
Winemaking Notes
After harvest and crush the fruit spent 4 days in cold soak prior to fermentation. The majority of each clone was fermented separately with a small amount of each reserved for co-fermentation. The wine was then aged in a combination of neutral and new French oak for 18 months prior to bottling on April 23, 2015
Tasting Notes
This is a classic Lone Oak Pinot Noir. It starts with an aromatic nose containing wonderful, fruit forward aromas and flavors of dark cherries with a vibrant, dry-yet-fruity medium-body and a finish of fine, silky tannins and light oak.
