2017 Sauvignon Blanc Gianquinto
Gianquinto Vineyard, Russian River Valley

The Vineyard
The Gianquinto Vineyard is located in the Laguna de Santa Rosa watershed area which is west of Hwy 101 in Santa Rosa and also known as the “Willowside” area. Gently sloping vineyards and a cool climate are ideal for producing quality Sauvignon Blanc. As the fruit ripens, the flavor profile shifts from herbaceous green bell peppers to wonderful tropical notes of pineapple and grapefruit.
Winemaking Notes
After fermentation the wine was aged in a combination of stainless steel and neutral French oak. The resulting Sauvignon Blanc has a straw color with fragrant aromas of citrus and tropical fruit and a nice medium body. Crisp acidity with flavors of grapefruit and other tropical fruits carry through to a rich finish. We recommend serving chilled on its own or with salads, poultry seafood, vegetarian dishes or spicier foods such as Thai cuisine.
Tasting Notes
This is a delicious dry white wine that is similar in alcohol (13.7%) to our 2016 vintage, a Gold Medal Winner.. It drinks very well on its own and can be easily paired with many foods including grilled seafood, light pastas, and spicy foods such as Thai cuisine. The use of oak in the aging process gives the wine extra body that leads to a full mouth feel and lingering, rich aftertaste.
